The multi-award winning Rosamund Brass Quartet

Featuring four brass players from the world famous Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, who also have been active members of some of the country’s leading brass bands: including Grimethorpe Colliery Band, Carlton Main Frickley Colliery Band, Rothwell Temperance Band and Hepworth Band. As an ensemble, Rosamund Brass hopes to develop further and explore repertoire available to brass quartets. They want to share their passion for brass chamber music to as many people as possible.

Our next upcoming event will be at the Interflora World Cup 2023, where we will be performing throughout the weekend. Watch us perform on the Band Stand at the Manchester Central Convention Complex on the 7th September at 14:00, 8th September at 13:45 and 9th September at 13:30.

Seb Williman

Seb is currently in his 4th year of studies at the Royal Northern College of Music. Seb’s playing career starting in brass bands and has played for the likes of Grimethorpe Colliery, The Fairey Band and more recently was principal cornet for the Carlton Main Frickley Colliery Band Seb is studying trumpet with Tracey Redfern and is currently engaged in a busy freelance schedule, performing regularly across the UK with a variety of bands, ensembles, groups and productions A few personal highlights for Seb so far are reaching the Semi-Final of the BBC Radio 2 Young Brass Award in 2018. Being the featured soloist at Brass in Concert 2022 with Carlton Main and winning the RNCM Philip Jones Brass Prize for the second year in a row (‘22, ‘23) with Rosamund Brass

Adam Hofland-Ward

Adam is a 4th year student at the RNCM, under the tuition of Rodger Webster and Richard Marshall. Adam started brass banding at the age of 8 and since has occupied principle seats at various bands, such as soprano cornet for the Grimethorpe Colliery Band and the Rothwell Temperance Band, and more recently made appearances on Flugel for the Hepworth Band. Adam has always enjoyed performing, and from a young age has performed at many major concert halls such as the Royal Albert Hall, Symphony Hall and the KKL. One of his career highlights however was at Stravinsky Hall in Swizerland where he performed flowerdale in the Youth European Championships.

Georgia Woodhead

Georgia is from Rochdale and is now in her 4th year at the Royal Northern College of Music. She is currently solo horn for the Hepworth Band. Georgia has been enjoying her time with Rosamund Brass since her first year at the RNCM, where she has had opportunities to play in many concerts and competitions.

Alex Barron

Alex is a fourth year undergraduate at the RNCM where he is taught by David Thornton. Alex has been playing in top level brass bands for over 5 years, having been principal euphonium of the National Youth Brass Band, a member of Grimethorpe Colliery Band. Alex also enjoys performing outside of brass bands, having worked with artists such as The Halle Orchestra and Gary Clarke Theatre Company.
