Rosamund Brass formed in September 2020 among friends studying at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester — though many of us had known each other far longer, through the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain and the youth banding world.
Our debut came at the RNCM Play festival in March 2021, with a performance recorded remotely and stitched together under Covid restrictions. Since then we have played the RNCM Festival of Brass, St Martin-in-the-Fields, ITV's Christmas carol service and the 2025 Lucerne Festival.
We love exploring the brass quartet repertoire, and we've commissioned more than eleven new works for the format, notably from Adam Gorb and David Horne.
